A Special Message from Knight Kiplinger:

Not long ago, John Hancock announced that a new survey uncovered the fact that most Americans significantly underestimate the cost of long-term care and overestimate how much help they can expect from Medicare to pay for it. I noted at the time that those troubling results drove home the need to arm consumers with more reliable information on the often bewildering subject of long-term care. That's the aim of our video -- Who Cares? Kiplinger's No-Nonsense Look at Long-term Care and How to Pay for It - which was released the same day that the survey results were announced.

The video has since been viewed by tens or perhaps even hundreds of thousands of Americans seeking a better understanding of this complex issue.

Although we didn't know it at the time, our video debuted in 2007 just days after the stock market reached an all-time high and started the precipitous decline that destroyed trillions of dollars of wealth. If your net worth has taken a hit, you may feel that now is precisely the wrong time to consider taking on a new expense. Ironically, though, you may need the protection of long-term care insurance now more than ever . . . precisely because of the damage the market has inflicted on your nest egg.

Long-term care insurance is not for everyone. But everyone needs to make a thoughtful decision on this subject of critical importance to you and your family. I hope this video helps you do just that.
